Ray Bradbury- "Something Wicked This Way Comes"

I have heard of this book for forever and have been meaning to read it. Finally I got around to doing it and I was not disappointed. The one thing I loved about this book is that it is creepy, yet it teaches a good life lesson at the same time.

A storm is coming to a small town in Illinois and it is in the form of a carnival. On the night of the grand opening, two boys witness a frightening event on one of the rides. Soon they are being chased by the evil behind the carnival and learn that getting what you truly desire in life can be more than what they bargain for.

One of the great things about this book is the fact that it is timeless. It doesn't have anything in it that really sets it in any era of time. It could have taken place now or 30 years ago. I love books like that. It lets you decide when it takes place. Another is the lesson of just enjoying life and being happy with what you have. That is always an issue that hits home with me. This book is really for all ages. It is creepy, but not enough to really traumatize a child.

I have found that I love Ray Bradbury's books. This is only the second book I have read, but it definitely will not be the last.
